A 22-year-old man was sentenced Wednesday, January 6 by the Grenoble Criminal Court to one year in prison, including four months with probationary suspension for mortar fire against police, announced the prosecutor.
The young man, who had asked for a delay during his immediate appearance on December 2 in court, was kept in detention, Grenoble prosecutor Eric Vaillant said in his tweet.
He was accused of having participated while he was traveling with another individual on a scooter on October 31 in the sensitive district of La Villeneuve, in mortar fire against the police.
The rear passenger of the scooter could have been disarmed by a fire from a defensive bullet launcher, which dropped his mortar without touching it.

Six officials, who had not been injured, had filed a complaint.
The young man, homeless and already known to the courts, could be identified in particular thanks to the fingerprints found on the mortar that fell to the ground.
Knowing that he was wanted by the police, he had been taken into police custody after showing up at the police station.
