The Washington Post reported that the US Department of Defense rejected a request by metropolitan officials to deploy the National Guard to the Congress building.
US media reported that Mike Pence, Vice President Trump and Senator Charles Grassley, had been moved to a safe location.
She indicated that the doors of the Senate were closed, the hall was evacuated, and the senators were moved to a safe place.
