America's shameful president, when he marched his supporters against the US Capitol on Wednesday, brought the despots and rulers of tyranny around the world a day of immeasurable joy: In Tehran, where the regime has mercilessly beaten down demonstrators and, if necessary, executed President Ruhani hailed the "failure of Western democracy".
In Moscow, President Putin is hypocritically worried about the US electoral system.
And in China the gleeful state media drew cynical comparisons with the crackdown on the Hong Kong protests - just as if the freedom fighters there were to be equated with the mob that attacked freely chosen institutions in the USA.
Even if it only lasted a few hours, the rule of the mob instigated by Trump shakes trust in democracy worldwide and nourishes the (false) belief in the superiority of managed systems.
Trump's shameless blows against the truth allow the despisers of democracy to go on with their lies undisturbed: On the same day that the world looked at Washington in dismay, the World Health Organization announced that China would join a group of experts to investigate the Wuhan virus Refused entry.
Since the time the corona virus emerged, the Beijing regime systematically muzzled researchers who reported it.
While China was cordoning off Wuhan, government leaders protested against European countries trying to ban Chinese planes from landing.
Why?
The communist rulers wanted to put Europe and the whole world in the same dire situation in which China was then.
But thanks to Trump, nobody asks about that anymore.
