Hundreds of rioters invaded the Capitol building on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, in Washington, sacking it, while senators and representatives gathered to certify the victory of Joe Biden in the presidential election.
It was after a virulent speech by Donald Trump on the Ellipse, near the White House, that his supporters, refusing to recognize the victory of his Democratic opponent, headed for the building, located just over 2 kilometers away.
According to the American Historical Society, this is the first time that the Capitol has been invaded since it was burnt down by British troops in 1814.
The crowd first stormed the fences on the west side to move towards the building, despite the presence of a few police quickly overwhelmed.
She then climbed the northwest walls, then she climbed on scaffolding giving access to the second story before smashing windows to get inside.
