If the Sudelfeld ski area is allowed to open regularly, it could enforce infection protection on its slopes better than currently, says managing director Egid Stadler.
But he is happy not to have to decide that.
Despite the
Corona lockdown
, the
ski slopes in Sudelfeld
have been
jam-packed
the last weekends
.
But the ski area earned practically nothing from it.
However, the managing director lacks
insight from winter sports enthusiasts
.
Hardly any of them wore a mask, according to Egid Stadler.
He is certain that if the lifts were open, the
hygiene measures
could be
controlled
much
better
.
Everything from the region is available in the Miesbach newsletter.
Bayrischzell
- Although winter
friends
filled
the
slopes in Sudelfeld
at the weekend
, the
ski area
earned
practically nothing from it.
Only the
parking fees
went to the company of managing director Egid Stadler.
This is certain
to be able to provide better
infection protection
with the lifts open than at present.
In our conversation, he explains why he is still happy not to have to decide whether to open the ski areas and how the
lockdown
affects
Sudelfeld
financially.
Sudelfeld ski area in Corona mode: "If we were open, it would have been better"

Mr. Stadler, the lockdown is being extended. What are the consequences for Sudelfeld?
We feared that would happen.
If the number of infections does not decrease, it is clear that the
lockdown will be extended
.
For us, the worst thing about it is the
insecurity
for our
staff
.
They are all on short-time work.
The permanent staff directs cars to the parking lot.
Seasonal workers are sometimes ready, but do not know when to start.
That burdens people.
How does the lockdown affect your finances?
Sudelfeld managing director in a Corona interview: "We haven't earned a euro since March 15"
We have
n't earned a euro since March 15th
.
We will refund the season tickets that we have pre-sold if we do not open.
It is financially difficult: we took out a loan after the first lockdown in the spring and have to pay debt because we have invested a lot.
Now we hope that the November aid will be paid out soon.
The
proposals
we have
made
, to January the money will be there.
This is important.
Otherwise we have to file for bankruptcy.
You don't earn anything, but your slopes are still full. How does that feel?
At the
weekend
everything was on its way.
Tobogganists, ski tourers, cyclists
.
It wasn't a few hundred, it was thousands.
Someone from Nuremberg called me to see if we had snow.
He wants to go sledding with the children.
I said: “The hotels are all closed.” He said: “It doesn't matter.
I'm going back in the evening anyway. ”What do you want to say?
Despite the ski lifts being closed at Sudelfeld: "Everything was on the move at the weekend"
How does it work with so many people on unprepared routes? Do accidents happen?
At the moment we only have the facility at the Waldkopf at the request of the German Ski Association for management training.
We have to keep them competitive, but it's all fenced off and the coaches make sure that no unauthorized people drive there.
We have
stopped making snow
on the other
slopes
.
At the moment they are neither directed nor marked out, piles of snow lie in the middle of the area.
Nevertheless, everything went
surprisingly harmoniously
.
How soon could you open when the lockdown ends?
The
main slopes
would
be ready for immediate use
.
We just have to push them.
The tobogganists and ski tourers don't change that either.
They tend to trample the snow firmly.
Ski lifts in corona lockdown: "I don't want to be a politician who makes these decisions"
Given the crowd, would you prefer to open the door immediately?
At the moment,
parking spaces and slopes are full
.
Only the cash registers are closed.
Besides, not one of those who were here at the weekend was wearing a mask.
If we had been in the
company
, we could have
checked
and things would have gone better.
Still, I don't want to be a politician who makes these decisions.
I see both sides, including the problems that accidents could cause for the emergency rooms.
I tend to lack insight from people.
What protection against infection could you provide if you were allowed to open?
Interview with Sudelfeld managing director: "We ordered 800 kilos of loop switch as mouth and nose protection"
We have expanded our webshop.
There are now day, hourly and multi-day tickets.
Skiers can simply load them onto a new card or buy them online and have them printed out at our machine.
You don't need to handle cash or stand at a till.
We ordered
800 kilos of loop shell as mouth and nose protection
.
With glasses and gloves in the open drag lift or chairlift, it would be more regulated than now and the
risk of infection is lower than in local transport
.
Still: I'm glad I don't have to decide.
Despite the corona warning, many Munich residents have long been drawn from the city to the mountains to relax.
In Miesbach, Upper Bavaria, residents have now made their displeasure clear.
Even before the tightened corona measures were in place, a mayor recommended the temporary banishment of the Munich residents - and a district administrator wants to close the mountains.
