It was the most bizarre picture of a night full of disturbing images.

A shirtless man, red-white-blue face-paint and a horned fur helmet poses for a photo at the presidium table of the venerable US Senate.

The man's name is Jack Angeli, but he's known as "Q Shaman" in the American far-right scene.

His fight name indicates the environment in which he moves.

Angeli is one of the leading figures in QAnon, a conspiracy theory that is becoming increasingly popular in the United States.

QAnon supporters played a central role in the storming of the Capitol.

Their worldview is based on the belief that a group of pedophiles and devil worshipers are secretly controlling the land.

One man can break the rule of this group: Donald Trump.

QAnon has now made its way into Congress.

Georgia MP Marjorie Taylor Greene, newly elected, is promoting the QAnon Beliefs.

She is also one of the leaders of the "Stop the Steal" campaign, which called for protests against Biden's allegedly fraudulent election victory
