Skipper Yannick Bestaven was still evolving far ahead of his rivals early on Friday as he sailed up the South Atlantic off the Argentine coast.
Bestaven (Maître Coq IV) advances with a gap of some 435 nautical miles (805 km) on his runner-up Charlie Dalin (Apivia), himself followed by Thomas Rettant (LinkedOut) as well as by Damin Seguin (Apicil).
The race, which is in its last quarter, is far from over.
The winner of this ninth edition is not expected before the end of the month in Les Sables d'Olonne (Vendée).
