According to reports, in order to accelerate the national vaccination campaign - the elected president will freeze the additional distribution upon taking office • The decision contradicts the perception of the existing administration
Corona in the United States:
President-elect Joe Biden has decided to freeze the second dose of vaccine to citizens upon taking office on January 20, local media reported Saturday night.

The decision means accelerating the vaccination of the majority of the population in the first batch of vaccines of modern and Pfizer companies approved for use in the country, but this could have a dangerous effect in light of the fact that this situation may lower the effectiveness of vaccines.
At the same time production times are slower than planned and postponing the second batch can make it easier for manufacturers.
A spokesman for Biden's transition team commented: "The president-elect believes all existing stock should be released to ensure everyone who needs the vaccine gets it."
Upon taking office next week, Biden will announce the new distribution policy.
Yesterday, a number of governors sent a letter to Health Minister Alex Azar asking him to save rations for countries that need them most.
"We are ready to work around the clock to increase distribution, save lives and get back to routine as quickly as possible," they wrote.
As a reminder, the Trump administration insisted that an initial vaccine delay was needed to ensure the availability of the second dose to those who had already been vaccinated but in light of the rise in morbidity and deaths across the country, the effectiveness of the strategy began to rise.
