Daraa artisans called for facilitating their access to the fuel needed to continue the work of their facility and to overcome obstacles to obtaining a loan from the Industrial Bank to recycle the wheel of production.
The head of the Craftsmen Union, Ibrahim Al-Kafri, stated in a statement to the SANA Economic Bulletin that craftsmen have great efforts and an important role in supplying the market with craft products that require their support and securing the requirements for the continuation of the production process, especially in these difficult times, such as increasing the artisans ’share of black cement and securing raw materials through the public sector, especially with regard to With oils, flour and sugar for confectionery shops, he pointed out that the flour allocated to the private bakeries is few and does not match the population and the per capita quota specified by the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, and he called for supplying the bakeries with sufficient quantities.
Al-Kafri called for the members of the board of directors of the craft association of olive presses to be represented in committees to set the price of olive presses in conjunction with the supply family and to calculate the fiscal tax in a lump-sum manner for the presses, in addition to allocating an office for the customs brokers association at the Nassib border crossing.
With regard to the craft establishments implemented last year, the director of the industry, Eng. Imad Al-Rifai, stated that the last year witnessed the entry of 62 craft establishments into the labor market, which were distributed over engineering, chemical, food and textile facilities with a total capital of 1.580 billion pounds that secured 164 jobs, indicating that the directorate received 81 requests from craftsmen. To license new craft establishments with a capital of 1,524 billion pounds, which will provide 231 job opportunities if they enter the labor market.
The number of the existing craft establishments in Daraa is 5,994, employing 10,624 workers.
