The tower used to be a legendary disco, but now it houses a gym, among other things.

This will be expanded - if the city council has its way.

Wolfratshausen

- When people talk about the “Wolfratshauser Turm” in the industrial park, older semesters remember dancing the night away.

It was not without reason that the former owner of the prominent building on Hans-Urmiller-Ring, Sepp Schwarzenbach, was awarded the discotheque Oscar in 2002.

Four years later, however, the dazzling restaurateur had to file for personal bankruptcy, and the tower subsequently stood empty for a long time.

Again and again various operators tried to build on legendary disco times (and the related economic success).

All of them, however, more or less in vain.

Now the building committee of the Wolfratshausen city council - under the eyes of Sepp Schwarzenbach senior and junior on the visitor gallery - dealt with the commercial complex at Hans-Urmiller-Ring 54. Studios on the first and second floors of the tower.

Who is behind the building application was not made public at the meeting.

The city councils expressly made their approval dependent on the decision of the Weilheim State Building Authority.

"Our yes is subject to change," said Vice Mayor Günther Eibl on behalf of the CSU parliamentary group.

Only Richard Kugler (Wolfratshausen list) voted against the project.

The reason: the expansion of the fitness studio on the first floor and the expansion of the sauna area on the floor above affect the no-building zone specified in the development plan.

However, the state building authority had signaled to the client to approve the project.

“Subject to the final review as part of the approval process,” said construction authority employee Sabine Trinkl to the committee members.

On the third floor or in the attic of the property, a “remaining space” may be used for setting up an office and “company apartments”.

The latter are already there, but should be four square meters larger.

This requires an exemption from the development plan - nothing stood in the way for the majority of the committee.
