Élancourt: Cocaine, cannabis and cars ... When the municipal employee plays the dealers

A trafficker and five of his accomplices were arrested. At the head of the network, a municipal employee who loved luxury.


A 36-year-old man and his 27-year-old accomplice were jailed on Thursday following a drug trafficking case.

The main suspect was arrested on January 11 in Élancourt (Yvelines), where he was domiciled.

Five other people linked to his network were also arrested by the police, including one in the Alpes-Maritimes.

Investigators suspect this municipal employee, from another Ile-de-France commune than Elancourt according to the town hall, of engaging in cannabis trafficking for more than a year.

On September 2, 2019, the police officers of the Élancourt police station received an anonymous information implicating this man and his accomplices in the trafficking of narcotics.

Investigators realize that large sums of money are circulating among all members of the network.

They get the address of the nanny, this person outside the traffic who keeps the drugs at home for remuneration.

Nearly € 30,000 in cash

After several months of surveillance, the police took action a few days ago.

The searches were successful: they seized nearly € 30,000 in cash, 1.6 kg of cocaine, cannabis, cars and two motorcycles.

At one of them, they will get their hands on luxury clothes, a flat screen and five phones.

During his custody, the main suspect admitted some of the facts while minimizing them.

The 28,000 € discovered at his place?

A marriage dowry, the sale of a car and the collection of a debt.

Cocaine?

He only admits to being a nanny facing financial difficulties.

But the other protagonists do not have the same version of the facts.

To the police, they declared that the trafficking had existed for at least three years and had brought him several tens of thousands of euros.

Presented to magistrates Thursday, two of the main defendants were taken to prison before their trial, scheduled for February.

The other members of the network - nurse, client or intermediary - were released under judicial supervision or with a summons before the magistrates at a later date.
