The Erdinger company Smart-Byte has developed a new game for Apple and Android devices: Viral Days.

The player must see to it that the infection process remains under control in a small fictional village.

- wear a mask, keep your distance and possibly go into quarantine.

This is how everyday life currently works.

And this is how the new game “Viral Days” works, which has been available for Apple and Android devices since mid-December.

It was developed by the Erdingen-based company Smart-Byte.

“Viral Days” is about keeping the infection process in virtual small towns under control.

The player makes sure that the population has enough masks and wears them.

Infected people have to be quarantined at home and crowds broken up.

“The focus is on how one should or must behave during such a pandemic,” explains Mario Heubach, founder and managing director of Smart-Byte.

"It also has a playful learning effect," he is sure.

The game uses simple graphics so that the game is easy to understand.

The game interface is a bit reminiscent of old Gameboy games.

Voluntary Promotion Only: No pop-up videos between levels

“We didn't want to keep reminding the players of the drama of the situation,” says Heubach.

"Rather, we have simple and cute characters and clear graphics to make it fun." Ideally, this simplified and visually cute simulation should lead to a more positive attitude towards the Corona rules in everyday life, says Heubach.

The game only includes advertising on a voluntary basis.

“You can watch videos and win extra points.

But you can do without it, ”assures the developer.

It took nine months to develop the game, says Heubach.

Heubach developed the game on behalf of the Pullach software company Quizista.

There are currently 25 levels, but more are to follow.

Heubach: “We'll have to wait and see how the game is received.

But we are already planning further levels and new features. "

The Corona computer game is available as a free download for Android mobile devices as well as iPhones and iPads in the respective app store.
