A surge in infections from Covid 19 in Milanese prisons.
In one week the cases among the detainees have increased by more than three times, while in all of Italy they have increased by 25%.
This is the picture that emerges from the latest data communicated by the Dap to the penitentiary police unions, updated as of January 14th.
In Bollate there were 36 positives on 7 January and now they have risen to 109, to which must be added another inmate hospitalized.
In San Vittore, on the other hand, there are 59 cases (there were 17).
There are 718 positive inmates across the country (681 asymptomatic, 11 with symptoms and 26 hospitalized).
On January 7, there were 556.
In all prisons in Lombardy there are 228 cases of Covid 19, almost a third of the national ones. Instead, Lazio is the second region in terms of number of infections, almost all concentrated in Roman prisons. In Rebibbia there are 54 positives (4 other inmates are hospitalized), 35 in Regina Coeli. Sixty cases in Veneto (37 in Vicenza and 23 in Venice). The other major outbreaks are in Sulmona (53 inmates), in Naples in the Secondigliano prison (40), in Palermo in the Lorusso penitentiary (40) and in Lanciano (29). Throughout Italy, 640 prison policemen are infected. Added to the staff (61) they bring the total of positives in the prison administration to 701
