A number of residents emphasized that reopening the pass would relieve them of many burdens, whether in terms of saving time or distance, or the costs and risks of moving through the river crossings.

Al-Hajj Abu Ahmad pointed out that the opening of the corridor saved him a lot of time as he had to travel more than 150 km to reach the city of Deir Ezzor, while Salem Al-Saleh said that the opening of the corridor would facilitate the arrival of his children to the university, as reaching Deir Ezzor city used to take more than three of them. In turn, Abdul Aziz Al-Dhiab indicated that the opening of the Salhiya Corridor serves all the people of the northern countryside of the governorate in terms of reaching the city of Deir Ezzor to complete their transactions in government departments, receive health services in hospitals, or even travel to other governorates, which was supported by Ali Al-Akla, who came from the city of Hasaka. As the opening of the pass saved more than two hours and a lot of costs in addition to the risks of crossing water ferries.

The mayor of Hatla village, located in the liberated countryside of Deir Ezzor, Fadel Al-Zahir, stated that the opening of the Al-Salhiya corridor will contribute to facilitating the return of the people to their homes and villages in the northern countryside of the governorate.

Deir Ezzor Governorate had taken all measures to facilitate the passage of the people and placed a medical point at the pass.

The director of the health zone in Al-Husayniyah Ammar Al-Sheikh stated that with the reopening of the corridor, the medical point was activated through an integrated medical team equipped with an ambulance that works to receive the people coming from the northern countryside to the liberated countryside of the governorate and to provide them with the necessary medical services, especially with regard to dealing with the Corona epidemic or Communicable and endemic diseases.
