The first packers were already there.
A photographer recognized a moving truck in front of the Washington villa where Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner lived.
A man came out of the garage and brought boxes to the truck that had the odd company name emblazoned on the side: College Hunks Hauling Junk.
The scene probably took place the day after the storm on the US Capitol.
The photo quickly found an amused audience on Twitter.
It was later said that the boxes contained old clothes for the Salvation Army.
Perspectives changed suddenly
The days of the illustrious couple in the US capital are numbered.
"My family likes Washington," Kushner had said a year ago.
But by Wednesday at the latest, with the shameful departure of Donald Trump, his father-in-law, they too will have run away.
The 464-square-meter brick house in fine northwest Washington, where Shirley Temple Black, child star and diplomat once lived, was only rented for $ 15,000 a month.
