The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Moscow is planning to stage a protest against the violation of freedom of expression in the United States.

"This will happen and the Russian side is preparing for that," ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said during an interview broadcast on Russia 1 today, in response to a question about whether the time has come to announce the protest against violations of freedom of expression in the United States.

Last Thursday, Zakharova denounced the US restrictions imposed on freedom of expression on social media, considering it a reflection of Washington's behavior in the international arena.

On the other hand, with regard to the Russian politician Alexei Navalny, who intends to return to Russia from Germany, Zakharova indicated that the German side delivered to Moscow data related to the case of his alleged poisoning, pointing out that the problem is that this response does not contain, as usual, anything of value regarding the questions that Its destination is Russia.

This comes a day after the German Ministry of Justice announced that it had delivered the transcript of its interviews with Navalny to Russia, calling on it to conduct a detailed investigation into the alleged poisoning case.

On August 20, Navalny was transferred in a coma to a hospital in the Russian city of Omsk, after his health suddenly deteriorated when he was on a plane heading from Tomsk to Moscow, and after several days, the Russian government agreed at the request of Navalny's family to transfer him to Germany, and Berlin later announced that Evidence of being poisoned using Novichok was discovered, while Moscow categorically denies these allegations, stressing that the tests he underwent in Omsk did not reveal traces of any toxic substances in his body.

Navalny intends to return to Russia today, although the authorities confirmed their intention to arrest him upon his arrival to the country for violating the terms of suspending the execution of the prison sentence issued against him previously for fraud.
