A little more than a year after the disappearance of the designer, Sotheby's is selling some 400 lots from its atypical collection and works by his hand.

“The collection I know best and which is difficult for me to talk about is obviously mine.

It is elusive ”,

wrote the late Pierre Le-Tan, in his book

Some collectors

, published in 2013, by Flammarion.

I have owned, I can tell, thousands of items.

Even if today most of them are just memories, I continue to seek, to find, to acquire.

Collecting is both essential and completely useless to me, ”

he continues.

Over the years, without ever worrying about fashions, this rare object hunter has accumulated hundreds of finds in his apartment on the Place du Palais-Bourbon, in Paris.

Some 400 pieces are for sale on March 16, for the most important and, for the others, online from March 9 to 17, at an estimate of around 1 to 1.5 million euros.
