The new text of the charter of the principles of Islam in France, partly signed at the Elysee Palace on Monday, has not undergone a simple facelift, but a radical change of perspective since last week's version.
This new charter, which should become "the" reference for imams in France, was signed, to the surprise of many, by the former UOIF, "Muslims of France".
Three of the eight federations involved (the Muslims of Reunion Island not being in this race) have not signed it for the time being: the two federations of Turkish origin and the association Faith and Practice, the Tabligh, of Indo-Pakistani inspiration.
