A supporter of Donald Trump has been arrested by US security forces for stealing a laptop or computer storage disk from the office of Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during riots in the US Congress.
The BBC reported today that Riley John Williams, 22, was arrested in Pennsylvania for "violent and illegal entry into the building and disorderly behavior."
Five people were killed after supporters of outgoing President Donald stormed Congress on the 6th of January.
The Williams case is one of more than 200 cases that have started since Trump supporters made their way to the Capitol, where lawmakers gathered to confirm Joe Biden's election victory.
The indictment includes "knowingly entering or remaining in any prohibited building or land without legal authority, violent entry and disorderly behavior on the Capitol building."
The indictment did not mention an allegation of data theft, but reports stated that the FBI is still investigating the allegations.
The affidavit says Williams was seen in television footage directing the crowds that stormed the Capitol.
Pelosi's deputy chief of staff Drew Hamill wrote on Twitter two days after the attack saying a laptop computer had been stolen from the speaker’s office but was only being used for making presentations.
