Today, the Maritime Ports Directorate reopened the ports of Lattakia and Tartous and the oil terminal in Baniyas to maritime traffic after the improvement of weather conditions.
Brigadier General Ammar Makhlouf, Director General of Ports, said in a statement to SANA's correspondent that due to the improvement in weather conditions, the ports of Lattakia and Tartous and the oil terminal in Baniyas were opened to maritime navigation, while the fishing and picnic ports on the Syrian coast were still closed until further notice.
On the 16th of this month, the Directorate of Maritime Ports announced the closure of the ports of Lattakia and Tartous and the oil terminal in Baniyas to marine navigation due to the prevailing weather conditions, high waves and increased wind speed.
