Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare stated on January 19 that on a cargo ship from Hong Kong to Kobe Port, 10 men were collectively infected with the new coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19).
The confirmed cases are all non-Japanese and are in their 20s to 50s.

Japan’s Kansai Radio reported that the cargo ship contacted the Kobe Quarantine Station on the 18th, saying that a crew member was unwell.
The quarantine personnel went to the ship for quarantine, and finally found 10 people were diagnosed.
Kyodo News reported that a man in his 40s who boarded the ship from Hong Kong had a fever, and the other nine had no symptoms.

This is after the Diamond Princess in February 2020, another foreign vessel in Japan with crew members was diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia.
All confirmed cases have now entered the quarantine facility arranged for isolation, and the remaining 13 crew members have stayed on board.
