The management of the Association of Restaurants and Bars held an online meeting tonight (Thursday) with Health Minister Yuli Edelstein and with the head of public health services, Dr. Sharon Elrai-Price, and discussed the industry's opening outline.

The outline refers to the number of vaccinated and in particular to the termination of the vaccination of the population at risk, as a key parameter for starting a business.

According to Shai Berman, CEO of the Restaurant Association, "The takeaway will open immediately after the closure.

Next week, together with the Ministry of Health, we will reach an agreed outline for opening our business for public seating.

It is not inconceivable that we will be able to open the restaurants to the public as early as February 15. "

Chef Haim Cohen, who was present at the meeting: "We emphasized to the Minister that we need time to prepare for the opening of businesses, and that our business model does not allow us to operate with occupancies of less than 50% seating inside and 75% outside.

"In my opinion, the minister understands this well," he noted.

"We will try to reach an agreed outline next week, which will balance the desire to maintain public health with the business feasibility of the restaurateurs."
