The Israeli occupation continues its defiance of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy, as it announced yesterday a new plan to establish 2,600 settlement units on the occupied Palestinian territories days after announcing a plan to establish 800 new units as part of the settlement and Judaization war that aims to isolate Palestinian cities and villages from each other, in implementation of the so-called (Deal of the Century) .

Spokesman for the Palestinian Presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, indicated in a statement that the occupation settlement plans constitute a flagrant violation of international legitimacy resolutions, foremost of which is Resolution (2334), which affirms the illegality of settlements and demands to stop it, which requires a firm international position to oblige the occupation to stop these plans.

Abu Rudeineh explained that the occupation’s seizure of more Palestinian lands and the establishment of settlement units on them undermines any opportunity to establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, stressing that the Palestinian people will continue their struggle until all plots and plans targeting their cause are dropped.

In a statement to SANA correspondent, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization Wasel Abu Yusef confirmed that the occupation is trying to impose a de-facto policy through settlement, Judaization, displacement of Palestinians, demolishing their homes, paving settlement roads on their lands and attacking Islamic and Christian holy sites, which requires a serious international stand to hold the occupation accountable for its crimes and settlement plans. Stressing at the same time that the Palestinian people will continue to uphold their land and rights and defend them until the colonial annexation plans are dropped.

Chairman of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission Walid Assaf indicated that the occupation has intensified settlement and Judaization and announced since the beginning of this year more than 4,500 settlement units, indicating that the occupation aims from the 2,600 units plan to complete the isolation of Palestinian towns from each other in conjunction with its continuing displacement of dozens of Palestinian families that continue Hold on on its own land.

Assaf indicated that during the tenure of US President Donald Trump, the occupation established more than 40,000 settlement units and seized large areas of land with the aim of expanding settlements within the so-called (deal of the century), pointing out that Trump went and the Palestinian people remained on their land steadfast, adhering to their rights.

Chairman of the Popular Committee for Resistance to Settlement and the Wall, Salah Al-Khawaja, made it clear that the occupation will establish 2,600 units in strategic areas, especially in East Jerusalem, Salfit and Nablus, with the aim of linking settlements with each other, creating settlement bypass roads, and cutting off communication between the Palestinians and their lands, which the settlements and the Apartheid Wall are besieging from all sides, warning against Displacement and ethnic cleansing operations against Palestinians in the villages and towns on which the settlements will be established.

For his part, settlement specialist Jamal Jumaa said that the new settlement plan comes in the context of occupation plans to annex 62 percent of the West Bank area, in addition to placing 20 thousand homes in Jerusalem on the demolition list and isolating 22 Palestinian villages from Jerusalem where 220,000 Palestinians live, pointing out that the occupation has also begun. With a plan to separate the northern West Bank from the center of it, through the intensification of settlements and the Apartheid Wall, in addition to the existence of bypass roads with a length of more than 1,400 km, which caused the seizure of large areas of land and the siege of Palestinian towns and villages.

The Coordinator of the Popular Committees for Resisting the Wall and Settlement in the South of the West Bank, Ratib Jabour, indicated that the occupation escalated the settlement war in the south of the West Bank, where it seized thousands of dunams in parallel with the intensification of demolition operations, as it demolished dozens of Palestinian establishments and homes in Nablus and Hebron, stressing that the Palestinians' steadfastness would fail the Israeli occupation plans aimed at displacing them and seizing them Their lands and Judaizing them.
