The General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums has started broadcasting promotional videos of promo on its social media pages for its holdings of the artifacts kept in its museums and for historical sites and monuments spread in all governorates.

In shooting these videos, monuments and museums rely on advanced technologies through high-resolution cameras to show the most accurate details possible of the artifacts, as well as aerial photography of some sites via the drone in order to provide a panoramic view of the site from various directions.

These videos, which have been broadcast so far, included the classic section of the National Museum in Damascus, which shows the content of the ancient cities and regions in Syria during the Roman and Byzantine eras, as it displays rare collections such as the unique frescoes of Dura Europos and many sculptures from the region of southern Syria.

The Directorate of Antiquities and Museums also showed a video of the Al-Minaqah castle, which was built in the 11th century AD and is located at the border between the Lattakia and Tartous Mountains, midway between Jableh and Baniyas, controlling an impenetrable site that dominates the surrounding valleys and is characterized by its elongated shape that took into account the mountainous nature of the site.

The last of these promotional videos that were broadcast was about the Cave Castle, which is located in the Qadmous region of Tartous and was built in the 11th century AD on a rocky plateau and is distinguished by being carved into the rock and therefore it was called the Cave Castle.

During the coming period, the Directorate of Antiquities and Museums continues to prepare and publish these videos through which it seeks to give a picture to the world of the unique archaeological treasures that Syria contains and the need to preserve them and contribute to their preservation because it is the heritage of all humanity.
