The citizens of the community of Wörthsee have the choice on Sunday, March 21st.

On this day there will be a referendum on the topic of the supermarket on the sub-drain.

In the eyes of many local councils, the cooperative housing project is also at stake.

Woerthsee

- Only shortly before Christmas the protest against the supermarket project on the part of the river was formed in the citizenry (we reported).

The local council, however, has been dealing with the planning for more than seven years.

Ultimately, everything seemed to have been said, an investor had been found, the housing cooperative Wogeno was in the starting blocks for the cooperative housing project.

The referendum, which was signed by more than 800 people within a few days, has now stopped planning.

It is primarily directed against the construction of the full range.

Counter arguments are sealing, traffic and the felling of around 2000 square meters of beech forest.

In the session on Wednesday evening, the councils unanimously approved the implementation of a referendum on March 21.

The majority then decided to carry out a request for a council.

A key question was also set (see box).

The discussion

In the local council on Wednesday the opinion prevailed that the supermarket and development on the sub-drain are linked.

If the supermarket is rejected by citizens, the housing project is also at stake.

Gerald Grobbel (Greens) didn't fit this amalgamation at all.

"I will not agree to the council request." He pleaded for only carrying out the referendum.

His group colleagues Veronika Wihan and Robert Wihan from the Free Voters saw it similarly: "I think that one has nothing to do with the other," said Robert Wihan.

Veronika Wihan spoke of a “conflict for the citizens”.

The majority assessed the situation differently.

“The market was the starting point for the development on the partial slope,” explained Dirk Bödicker (WA).

"That would be a prank of the citizens not to build a supermarket where there are already many apartments and more are to come." For him it is completely clear: "If the full-range supplier does not come, apartments there also make no sense." Josef Kraus (CSU) noted that the beech forest had to be felled not only for the construction of the supermarket, but also for the residential development.

As reported, 2493 square meters of beech forest are to be created to compensate for the approximately 2000 square meters of beech forest at Ziegelstadel.

Kraus also had little hope that the residential development could be realized alone.

"Then there are opponents again at the last moment."

Philip Fleischmann (CSU) was just angry.

"I'm pissed off," he said, recalling the long planning phase.

To stand up for the forest is “clever marketing”, but the supermarket is the focus of an entire concept.

Peter Hopmann (WA) was horrified that there were even votes against a request for a council.

Incidentally, he does not assume an increase in traffic on the partial terrain.

“The Etterschlager Straße will be traffic calmed, and people from Kuckucksheim and the surrounding area can shop on foot or by bike.” Jakob Aumiller (CSU) also defended the work of the municipal council: “There was once a plan where we could do more Trees should have been felled, we refused.

We already had a lot of feeling. ”Dr.

Harald Lossau (FW) admitted that the supermarket was big.

"But there is no other obvious way." Johanna Benz (WA) finally warned against letting the planning authority be taken away from her.

“Now we still have that under control, but when the pressure from Munich increases, it will be more difficult.

It wasn't easy for us, but it's the best solution there. "

Mayor Christel Muggenthal finally described it as “the municipal council's right to present its work, to advertise it positively and to put it up for election as a whole”.

The request for a council finally went through against the votes of the Wihans and Grobbels.

The procedure

In the coming weeks, all Wörthsee citizens who are eligible to vote will receive documents for the referendum, they can vote by post.

The community will also set up a polling station in the primary school, which will be open on March 21 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This type of voting means that only 24 election workers are required.

The municipality saves the additional costs for shipping with refreshment money, which has been set at 25 euros (postal voting assistant) or 30 (voting committee) and 40 euros (head of the voting committee or secretary).

"The result of the vote will be announced at the meeting on the 24th," announced Mayor Muggenthal.

The questions

The question of the referendum reads: "Are you in favor of the fact that the municipality of Wörthsee does not create any planning-law requirements for the planned new construction of a food assortment with apartments and therefore the construction control procedure for the development plan No. .

Change of the land use plan of the municipality of Wörthsee 'with regard to the special area' grocery store and living 'is discontinued and not pursued further? "The abbreviation is: No thanks to a full-range retailer north,' Zum Kuckucksheim '".

The question asked by the council is: "Are you in favor of the Wörthsee community in the 'Am Teilrain' planning area creating the planning-law requirements for living space for all generations and income groups and a supermarket serving local supplies (full range), as is currently the case in development plan procedures No. No.68 intended by the municipal council? ”, The short version reads:“ Yes to apartments for all generations and income groups as well as a full-range supplier serving local supplies north, 'Zum Kuckucksheim' ”.

The key question is: "Are the questions put to the vote in referendums 1 and 2 answered in a manner that is not mutually compatible with a majority of yes or a majority of no: Which decision should then apply?"
