You and your colleagues have not
spent
the past few days with
corona vaccinations
as planned
- but with canceling appointments because no vaccine was delivered.
The reactions are emotional.
Many people burst into tears - and some threaten the vaccination workers.

When did you find out there was no vaccine being delivered this week?
I got the email on Sunday morning.
We had to cancel around 600 appointments for this week.
How do people react when they are rejected?
It is very different.
Most of them are reluctant to us.
They understand that we can't help it.
But the understanding for the government is no longer there at all.
We had to call some of them for the second time to reschedule because the government had supplied us incorrectly.
This time, the dates have not only been postponed, but actually canceled.
Because we have no idea when the next delivery will come.
We can't plan at all right now.
There are some, fortunately few, who really insult us wildly and even threaten us.
But there are also people who are really disappointed and even cry.
Relatives who fear for their parents or grandparents.
But also seniors who have been lonely for months and hope that they will finally be able to see people again

Pfaffenhofen: No vaccine available - pastoral work for citizens who have to wait
Can you absorb this disappointment?
This is now our everyday life.
If a lot of appointments are canceled or if we cannot assign vaccination appointments, we always have to do some pastoral work.
That is why the hotline is often completely overloaded.
Then people can no longer get through who have a question about their second vaccination.
And there are complaints to the district office.
Are you concerned that these problems will reduce vaccination readiness?
To a certain extent, yes.
We have already received feedback from some people that they no longer want to be called, it has been dealt with.
There are still a few.
But if the vaccinations cannot be planned in the long term or if people have the feeling that they are being put off, there could be more.
And we cannot rule out the possibility that delivery problems could occur more frequently.
How big is the frustration of your employees?
It will of course also be bigger.
Because now they're getting into all the trouble.
They are also here to move the vaccinations forward.
Now they are in the vaccination center and cannot do anything because there is no vaccine.
Do you know when the next delivery is coming?
Today we got the announcement that there will be a delivery on Friday - partly with the vaccine for the second vaccinations.
But also with a small amount of initial vaccination doses.
We've fallen for two times because of a delivery error.
That is why we are now very careful with the appointment issue, which concerns these few doses.
Should they come, they have to be vaccinated quickly ...
That's right.
We have everyone in our system that we had to cancel now.
If there is a vaccine, we'll call again.
But then of course we need more staff again.
Corona pandemic: does the federal government still have a clear view of vaccine distribution?
What's next for the people whose appointment has now been canceled?
We have all registered directly in the new vaccination portal for vaccinations.
We have also saved all names and numbers so that we can notify them as a matter of priority and then vaccinate them before the software assigns appointments to the over-80s.
We are currently vaccinating people over the age of 85 in our district.
But the rejections also include people who are over 90.
Can you understand that there are still so many problems?
I don't understand that now.
Obviously, a vaccination campaign of this magnitude is the first time for everyone.
But there are also queries from the government that really surprise me.
For example, they now wanted to know how much vaccine we had already received - although we previously had to scan and send all delivery notes.
Sometimes you get the feeling that they don't really have an overview.
What do you think about the fact that some politicians have already started a debate about mandatory vaccination?
There is currently no basis for discussion at all.
As long as the vaccine is not permanently available, there is no need to think about compulsory vaccination.
