If Météo France no longer places any department on alert, the wind will continue to blow strongly this Thursday, especially on the coast.

It continues to blow.

After the strong winds that swept over the country on Wednesday, the situation remains turbulent on Thursday.

If Météo France has lifted its orange vigilance, the Pas-de-Calais and the North were still concerned this Thursday morning until 6 am, a very dynamic oceanic regime, with wind and rain, continues.

The southerly to southwesterly wind will also remain very strong.

From the English Channel to the North-East in the morning, the gusts will reach 70 to 90 km / h inland, locally 100 near the Belgian border.

It will weaken in these regions in the afternoon but a new Atlantic disturbance will take over in the West, with gusts of 80 to 100 km / h in the interior, from southern Brittany to Pays de la Loire and Poitou- Charentes, up to 120 km / h on the coast.

These strong gusts will spread in the evening towards Ile-de-France, the Center then the North-East.

A strong southerly wind will also blow over the Pyrenees, and more moderately in the Rhône valley.

Rain, wind but softness

The rain will not be outdone with a brief but intense rainy period, which will stretch at the start of the day from the north of Aquitaine to the Center and the Ardennes.

It will quickly sweep the Massif Central and the North-East around midday then evacuate to the east.

Behind the calm will be brief, new rains will arrive on the Atlantic coast at the beginning of the afternoon, and will reach the Belgian border at the end of the day.

The associated rains will be moderate, sometimes quite heavy especially in Limousin, they will persist in the evening from the North to the Center and to New Aquitaine.

Ahead from the northeast to Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, and from eastern Provence to Corsica, the sky will be overcast with some light rain at times.

From the Pyrenees around the Gulf of Lion, the weather will be drier, the sky variable.

Sweetness will remain in the country.

The minimum temperatures will go from 4 to 9 degrees in general, 1 to 3 in the Alsace plain.

The maximums will vary between 8 and 12 degrees over a large northern half, between 11 and 16 in Provence in the southwest.
