The last few months have been unconventional and not easy for all of us, and in light of the situation B144 is launching a new and special project designed to pardon small business owners across the country.

Each time we will bring you here the story of another business, so that you can get to know it and maybe even support it.

And this time we are talking to Asher Arazi, director of the banner dance school in Kfar Saba.

Business Name:

Habanera Dance Academy

Established:

1991

Tell us about your business:

"This is a ballroom and Latin dance school that my wife Moore and I founded. She is French, I am an Israeli who studied dance in France, we met there and started performing together. There are classes for ages 6 to 12, and then it starts with a group for ages 35 and up, a group for ages 60 and up, asked our two large groups, and there are also special groups for retirees. We have several hundred subscribers on weekdays, and can attend group or private classes , Suitable for those who are just starting to dance, for the bride and groom who want to do something special, for advanced students who are trying to further improve what they learn in group work, etc.

Most of our activities are around leisure culture, for those who want to improve their quality of life and relationships. In international competitions and we have a framework of training instructors with international IDTA certificates, when we are currently their only representatives in the country. There is also an artistic aspect, with our groups appearing at events and festivals in Israel and around the world, and we organize theme tours that combine workshops and dances.

SIM.

Another interesting program that can be found here is called 'Dancing for Health', for people with special needs and Parkinson's patients and their spouses, in collaboration with Tel Hashomer.

That way they can do sports together.

It's important to understand that just as one needs a financial pension, people also need a health pension, brain and body and that's something that dance gives us. "

How does B144 help promote your business?

" Our page on B144 has brought us a lot of new dancer inquiries over the years.

Thanks to our presence there, anyone looking for ballroom dancing came straight to us and we also had a segmentation in advertising by areas where we had active branches before the Corona.

How else are you promoting yourself digitally?

"Occasionally we do Facebook-sponsored campaigns, and we also have a well-established and active website, so it is well promoted and brings us inquiries. Because we have seniority and reputation, every time we have a new activity, group or workshop, there are many digital recommenders and it goes from one to another ".

Pargan for another business:

"I would love to

pargan for a

store called Dance Style, which often

holds

sales events with us. They work with us and specialize in dance clothes and shoes, including ballroom dance practice for example. They also often donate to the needy and the community, so this is a good opportunity to compliment them." .

How has the corona affected your business?

"At first, with no choice, we switched to zoom and it gave a reasonable, but also very limited answer, because there is nothing like being in the field and experiencing the interaction with your teacher. Before Corona we had more instructors, who worked in different branches and now everything was reduced to Kfar Saba and it was just us, like In the beginning, principals, instructors and waiting for the end of the corona to bring everyone back soon. After all

, we took advantage of the free time to build a new online dance class program called Feetness4u, designed primarily for people 60 and older from all over the world who want to keep their body and mind fit. Professional videos and we set up an online, international store, designed for seniors - a site with dance courses. We saw that it is something that is in demand all over the world, in terms of health and leisure culture and this challenge of the Corona crisis gave us the opportunity to pick up this project. "Ballroom dancing, and then we did everything and uploaded it to the site. The whole site is in English, so we also took lessons so we could deliver the courses to the whole world."

What tip do you have for other business owners?

"Not to get depressed and not wait for it all to end. We took advantage of the situation to leverage things we just didn't have time to do, we thought outside the box. That's how we built a special product, independent of time, studio or teachers, but can be bought at any time, worldwide." .

How do you envision your business in 5 years?

"I want to develop it as much as possible in the country and at the same time, to develop the international platform, to get as many people as possible to dance. Our vision is that the whole world will dance, because it is a kind of gift a person can give himself, health and quality of life. ballroom dancing, is the anti-aging field of perfect and many studies have shown it. So we will not stop dancing!
