Because driving is tedious and online registration is problematic, three Unterföhring institutions demand in an open letter that mobile vaccination teams drive to the seniors.
Unterföhring
- Seniors who live in Unterföhring and want to be vaccinated must go to the vaccination center in Haar.
A rule that causes a lack of understanding at the Förderverein Soziale Dienst Unterföhring.
In an open letter, the chairmen of the friends 'association, the municipal senior citizens' council and the neighborhood help therefore addressed District Administrator Christoph Göbel.
They demand that mobile vaccination teams visit those affected in order to save them driving.
“How are hundreds of people supposed to drive from Unterföhring to Haar to have their vaccinations?” Ask the authors of the letter.
Many of the seniors do not own a car, and some have no relatives to drive them.
And the bus is out of the question due to health restrictions and the risk of infection.
The regulation hits sick people who are cared for at home even harder.
But it's not just a problem with the transport, registration by email and the associated technical problems are also a stumbling block.
"That is simply insufficient," says the letter to District Administrator Göbel.
The authors fear that all these hurdles will torpedo the apparently high vaccination readiness of local seniors.
The three Unterföhringen institutions offer their support to the district and the mobile vaccination teams they hope for.
