The EU vaccination certificate should come.
For the time being, however, it is only available as a medical document.
The subject of
vaccination records
and the associated privileges for vaccinated people is currently the subject of heated debate.
Foreign Minister
Heiko Maas
recently
restarted the debate when he brought up possible
special rights
for
vaccinated people

Angela Merkel
and the other heads of government of the EU member states agreed on this in a four-and-a-half hour video meeting.
For the time being, an
EU vaccination certificate
will only be available as a
medical document
.
Means: It is a kind of certificate that the vaccinee
receives
after the
corona vaccination
.
It is still unclear at EU level whether there should be
advantages
for
vaccinated people
.

more
corona tests
within the European Union.

“dark red” marking
for
hotspot zones
within the
EU
.

to impose
a general
test requirement
for
travelers
from
non-EU countries
.
And what about travel bans?
EU summit on Corona strategy: will there be another travel ban?
Belgium in particular had
repeatedly brought
travel bans
in the
EU
into play.
After the virtual meeting of the heads of government, the Commission President made it clear that
travel bans remained a
matter for the federal states.
In other words: Each member state of the EU decides
itself
on possible
border
closings. Regardless of this, von der Leyen advises
against
travel abroad that is not absolutely necessary.

reports, around 70 percent of EU citizens should be
vaccinated
against the
corona
virus
by summer 2021 at the latest
.
According to the commission, 80 percent of the over 80-year-olds as well as the nursing and health staff should be immunized by March 2021.
It is questionable whether it will actually go that fast.
Recently, there have been repeated delays in delivery of the corona vaccine - also in Germany.
