The Hong Kong government has announced the imposition of unprecedented isolation measures to limit the spread of the Corona virus.
A government statement quoted by the French Press Agency stated that "any resident of buildings located in the Jordan district of Hong Kong is prohibited from leaving his home if he does not show a negative test for the virus."
The statement added that the government intends to conduct checks for all residents of this region with the aim of stopping the spread of the epidemic.
In turn, Minister of Health Sophia Chan indicated in statements to reporters that residents must stay in their homes to avoid infection until they obtain the results of their tests, explaining that the procedure includes about 150 residential buildings.
Chan pointed out that more than 3,000 police have been mobilized to enforce the isolation measures.
This is the first closure imposed by the authorities in Hong Kong since the emergence of the virus, after the province witnessed during the past two months a fourth wave of the epidemic, while the authorities made every effort to reduce the number of daily infections.
