A week after the fact, still so much misunderstanding, and a little bit of hope.
Last Friday January 15, Yuriy, a 15-year-old boy, was assaulted by a dozen people on the slab of Beaugrenelle in the 15th arrondissement of Paris.
He was just starting this Saturday, January 23 to come out of a coma, according to his mother who spoke to
Figaro
.

According to the account she gives, while he was playing with four other college students, a dozen older individuals attacked them, armed with baseball bats and crutches.
If Yuriy's friends managed to escape, the latter tripped and found himself on the ground, at the mercy of the attackers.
He was then beaten for several seconds, with multiple blows to the head.
In an unauthenticated video circulating on social networks, we see ten individuals hitting a person on the ground, striking their blows with unbearable violence, before fleeing in several directions.

, Nataliya, his mother, first gives news of Yuriy, this Saturday noon: “
He slowly starts to wake up, I find him very agitated.
Doctors tell me it's normal.
He is still intubated and has not yet spoken,
”she explains.
Doctors proceed to a programmed awakening after a week of coma, and a six-hour long operation.
The first medical certificate showed a head trauma with several serious fractures, a hematoma between the brain and the skull, and a cerebral contusion, as well as a broken nose, finger and several bruises.

They are starting to be relatively optimistic,
” notes Nataliya.
“
God also helps us despite everything.
I thank heaven for all of Necker's caregivers,
”she continues, praising the medical team taking care of her eldest son, who has two little sisters.

They explain everything to us very patiently, with them we also have hope
" adds the one who now spends her days in the hospital room, managing her concierge business from her laptop.
A call for witnesses launched
Remains, in addition to helping Yuriy, to understand what happened to him.
In the days following the assault, the family called for witnesses and put up posters in the neighborhood where the assault took place.
An Instagram account has also been created, to provide information that is useful for the survey.
The police officers of the 3rd District of judicial police (DPJ) were seized of the investigation, opened by the public prosecutor of Paris.

According to several sources, young people from Vanves in the Hauts-de-Seine regularly occupy the slab of Beaugrenelle, without knowing for the moment the possible links with the current affair.

Yuriy had no problem with possible rivalries and is, according to his school quoted by several media, a good student whose aggression shocked and surprised.

He is very cultivated, a good student, it was unthinkable that all this could happen to him
" abounds Nataliya.

We talk a lot together, me about my work, he about his daily life at school ... He never broached any conflict problem with me,
" she continues.
However, only one disturbing memory goes back: “
the Wednesday before his attack, he received a phone call lasting a few seconds in the evening.
We were surprised and asked him who was calling him so late, he told us it was nothing,
”she explains.
Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin spoke about the affair this Saturday: “

The teenager's family received the support of several elected officials and residents of the 15th arrondissement.
Mayor LR Philippe Goujon has promised to take care of the security of the place where Yuriy was assaulted

The Ukrainian embassy, the family's home country, also contacted the public prosecutor, according to the mother.
On social networks, many comments are circulating, wishing a speedy recovery to Yuriy, but also expressing anger at the level of insecurity illustrated by the teenager's aggression.
