The debate about rail expansion continues in Dorfen as it ended in early December.
That leaves little hope of a strong negotiating position for the city.

- The importance of the railway expansion is really immense in Dorfen.
Any political discussion is still justified.
But all the fears from the beginning of December are already becoming reality.
Individual city council groups come up with old and new demands.
And after this agonizing prehistory it seems clear: there will be no agreement until the last moment.
But closed ranks are urgently needed.
This is the only way for the city to act as a strong negotiating partner for Bahn AG and the Federal Ministry of Transport.
There is a lot to be won here and more to lose
In the interests of the citizens, the parties must finally pull themselves together.
Even if it is difficult: the city councils should go into a goal-oriented weighing process across all political groups.
Perhaps this also requires an informal discussion group, or - more grassroots democracy and probably only after Corona - a working group that involves citizens and experts.
But goal-oriented also means quickly.
Because the pressure to make decisions is increasing.
New palaver with the often hypocritical defense of barely tenable positions only costs the citizens time and nerves.
In order to achieve a sustainable consensus, city council meetings have only proven to be of limited use.
Too often the debates turn into a showdown.
Finding compromises is too short of breath based on the current status of the discussion in the hall.
It is highly questionable whether the decision will really bring about the right solution.
Arguing, sounding out, fighting for positions, but also recognizing the inaccessibility of some wishes - this is tedious and sometimes painful, but overdue.
