The IDF Intelligence Division's report published tonight (Saturday) recommends considering returning the isolation obligation to returnees from abroad, vaccinated or recovering.

"It should be considered to treat the vaccinated or recovering in a similar way when they arrive in Israel, at least in terms of their examination and possibly even short-term isolation, because if they contract a problematic mutation they may spread it in the community," the report said.

At the same time, the Armed Forces warned that the vaccination campaign, in parallel with the outbreak of the disease in Israel, could lead to the development of an Israeli mutation that would be resistant to the vaccine. The

vaccine will allow Israel to return to routine, only if it uses the benefits it provides in terms of reducing morbidity and mortality from the strains we know today. Adhere to the guidelines for distance, isolation and hygiene until a significant percentage of the population is vaccinated, and avoid uncontrolled exit from the quarantine. "

They further clarified that "the introduction of new variants of the virus' mutations, which may in a severe scenario challenge the existing vaccines, should be" prevented, or at least delayed for many months. "

According to the report's authors, "this requires a closer examination of the policy of leaving and entering Israel from countries with high morbidity."

In the background, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will tonight hold a discussion on the entry of the disease through Ben Gurion Airport.
