Far from the public debate in the Hebrew media, the election campaign in Arab society is conducted mainly around the percentage of voting and in restoring the trust of the Arab public in the joint list.

The fear that the Likud will rake in votes from the Arab public is small, but recent polls worry the heads of the joint - only about 40% of Arab voters report that they intend to vote at all.

Anger over the situation on the joint list crosses parties, but the Israeli media only deals with what it receives from Jewish party publicists - the events in Meretz, the appointment and removal of Ayman Abu Raya by Boogie Ya'alon, the search for a bad future Arab candidate and the Arabs' support for the Likud. The important events to deal with when trying to understand what will happen at the polls on March 23 in the Arab localities.

There is a decline in support for the Zionist parties among Arab society (Photo: Reuven Castro)

In the last four election campaigns, all Zionist parties received only 3-2 seats in Arab localities.

Benjamin Netanyahu and Meretz lost votes of Arabs who received the elections 2015 and April 2019, respectively, for the benefit of Ganz and Shas elections in 2020. The decline in support for Zionist parties is growing stronger among the Arab public. In practice, the vote Hmhatiim stronger.

Pointer in Arabic at the threshold of fear abstention More In 2001, 82% of Arab voters boycotted Ehud Barak and led to the election of Ariel Sharon. Awareness of the importance of the Arab vote has been growing ever since. Since 1996, the Arab voter holds his vote as an important card - this vote caused Peres to lose in 1996. The victory in 1999 and punished him after he sent police to shoot protesters in October 2000.

Since then, Ehud Barak has intensified the crisis between the Arab voter and the Zionist left, the parties representing the Arab public are looking for a way to influence as they did in 1995-1992, but fail to find the right opportunity. The Palestinian internal crisis, the collapse of Oslo and the acceptance of the reality of "conflict management" distanced Arab voters from the sense of "historical responsibility for the fate of the Palestinian people" that characterized the 1980s.

Voting trends in the last decade are clear - the potential of Arab voters can reach 85%, and in local elections it even exceeds 90%.

In practice, the Arab voter uses his voting power to show the way to the parties.

Anyone who has been following the discourse on Facebook pages in recent years sees a very critical discourse on leadership, which takes over the independent and non-partisan voting public.

Party activists are unable to cope with the wave of harsh and sometimes even insulting criticism.

In the absence of a democratic platform in which the public can express their views on the positions of leaders and parties, the virtual arena has become a critical and venomous wrestling arena.

Some party leaders think this wave will pass and the public will forgive them.

The Arab voter understands that the power he has is in boycotting the elections - he is ready to use it and punish its leaders, lower the four parties to ten seats as happened in April 2019, and force reunification as in the 2020 elections. -80% of Arab voters.

All studies indicate that this is the real potential.

Although the partnership attributed the increase in voting rates in its favor, it was the work of nonprofits funded by Jewish donors from the United States who were tired of Netanyahu.

The vote-raising campaign is already being organized and coming up with a new name "Kadaya".

The faltering negotiations, mainly between Hadash (and the three parties that joined it) and the RAAM, will continue until the ninetieth minute.

What is clear is that Ra'am, which is in fact the southern Islamic movement, has improved its organizational and media set-up compared to April 2019, when it faced Balad against Hadash and Ta'al together.

The two lists then won together 10 seats.

Polls currently give the four parties on the joint list between 11-10 seats.

For many months, Mansour Abbas tried to get Netanyahu to lower the blocking percentage.

Aryeh Deri vehemently opposed and it was dropped from the episode.

Those who followed the southern activity in the Corona crisis, noticed the establishment of an independent array based on the food distribution array for families in crisis.

They strengthened the organizational, logistical and media system.

For months, tens of thousands of food deliveries were distributed to families and everything was recorded in the computerized systems set up to serve even on Election Day.

The system has been sending political messages to the mobile phones of hundreds of thousands of citizens for months.

Arab voters, including doctors, journalists, workers and government office workers, see themselves as key players in the economy and want to influence the media-political discourse. They are no longer willing to settle for sitting on the reserve bench of the Israeli left.

The ideal example is in 1995-1992, but in order to reach a similar position of influence it is not enough to reorganize Arab-Palestinian society. The Arab public is tired of being captured by the Ashkenazi left, which is kicking it again, as did Ehud Barak, Tzipi Livni and Bnei Gantz.

The search for influence requires the Arab public to look outside their homes and look for opportunities for collaborations with audiences they are tired of Netanyahu and Gantz, those seeking economic justice, multiculturalism and true peace. Such audiences exist in the Jewish public, and the Arab public can release them from another chief of staff who will be proud of the number of Arabs he killed and incites a prime minister and is accused of bribery.
