Anyone who has ever been in hospital because of Corona usually doesn't want anything to do with the virus afterwards.

Volunteers on the Covid-19 wards are a blessing.
Munich's Alena (20) decided to do it - for a special reason.
Munich -
Alena was
on the
Covid-19 ward of
the
Munich Clinic Schwabing for
a week
.
She has cured the disease and suffered no long-term consequences.
Now Alena voluntarily returns to the same ward every day: to help fellow sufferers!
She is one of the volunteer angels who support the
heavily stressed care team

First corona wave - 20-year-olds got infected while skiing
Corona
*
hit
her whole family
during the first wave
.
In
skiing holiday in South Tyrol
also her two sisters and her parents put on.
"We had aching limbs, a fever, and couldn't smell or taste anything", Alena recalls.
At that time,
everyone who tested positive
was still
admitted to
the hospital
.
"We got a call from the health department that we should pack a few things." 20 minutes later Sanka was already standing by the door.
It took
three months
for Alena's sense of smell and taste to recover, and the remaining symptoms of the illness subsided after two weeks.
Unfortunately, her 56-year-old father didn't get up so quickly: “I've never seen my papa so sick.
We were afraid for him.
Thank God he didn't have to be ventilated and he got well again, ”says Alena.
“It was a difficult time for all of us.” Then there was the stress at school, as she was about to take her Abitur exams.
It's amazing what these people do!
Alena about nurses and doctors on the Corona ward
In April Alena begins training as a
physiotherapist
.
But she is currently helping with a lot of
heart and soul
on the
Corona station
, Monday to Friday from 7 a.m.
“
I want to give something back to the people
who were there for us.
Especially since I saw how hard the nurses and doctors work.
It's amazing what these people are doing! "

Everyday life in the Corona ward is not easy: “You can literally hear how much the patients suffer.
It's stressful.
But the positive experiences predominate.
And I know that I'm doing something useful here. ”
