Fürstenfeldbruck - More space, more comfort and more security: a bicycle parking garage is to be built at Bruck train station.
Green city councilor Thomas Brückner, also chairman of the transport forum, has worked out a proposal.
Now he is hoping for the support of his city council colleagues.
Fürstenfeldbruck - Last July, the traffic committee commissioned the administration with specific considerations for a future central bicycle parking garage.
If Brückner has his way, this parking garage should be on the pedestrian underpass to the train station.
“The biggest advantages at this location are, on the one hand, the shorter walking distances to the train station,” explains Brückner.
"On the other hand, the car park can be easily integrated into the existing infrastructure, and no trees have to be removed."

The prospect of a covered parking space for the bike is particularly promising in bad weather, Brückner continued.
An important but not yet fully resolved issue is security.
"One consideration is a lock in connection with a fence around the building," explains the city council.
“Another possibility would be to install bicycle boxes.” The city council has to decide on the details.
A total of 420 bicycles should have space in the two-story car park.
There will also be an area for cargo bikes and trailers.
The repair of damaged bicycles should also be provided.
"We have integrated a repair point on every floor," says Brückner.
Various tools and an air pump are attached to a column, which cyclists can use free of charge and on their own.
If the city council approves the project, planning and construction can begin.
The architect cannot yet say when the time will come.
“It depends on many different factors, including money.
But if we didn't have the hope of a timely implementation, I wouldn't plan it in this way. ”Brückner hopes that the parking garage will lead to more bicycle traffic in the district town.
"In the long term, this should also achieve the goal of making Fürstenfeldbruck a bike-friendly city." (PAUL BURGMEIER)
