Iraqi forces carry out a security operation to pursue ISIS terrorist cells in Salah al-Din

Today, the Iraqi forces announced the launch of a security operation to pursue ISIS terrorist cells in Salah al-Din Governorate, in the center of the country.

Alsumaria News quoted the Popular Mobilization Authority as saying in a statement that “Days after the treacherous terrorist attack on the Al-Eith area, east of Salah al-Din Governorate, the 9th Brigade in the crowd began a security operation in the region and its neighboring villages to pursue terrorist cells.”

The statement pointed out that "the security operation has so far resulted in finding a number of headquarters for terrorist remnants of ISIS and removing a number of explosive devices planted on the roads. A tunnel was also found that served as a refuge for terrorists."

For its part, the Military Intelligence Directorate announced that through a specific operation, an ISIS terrorist was arrested in Makhmour district in Nineveh Governorate.

The Iraqi forces continue their operations to pursue the remnants of ISIS terrorists in the Iraqi regions.
