The Youth Cultural Club, in cooperation with the Arab Cultural Center in Abu Rummaneh, held a symposium in which a number of young writers gave various literary attempts.
Dr. Mahmoud Al-Sayed spoke in it about the role of literary chaos in subverting the culture and the Arabic language, pointing to the importance of defining terms so that the vision is defined and the understanding is clear and reliance on the language in its true sense properly as it includes symbols and signs because it is a comprehensive, systemic, integrated concept.
Al-Sayed, who is the Chairman of the Committee for Empowering the Arabic Language, said that poetry has a great role, provided that it expresses the conscience and its reflections, comes out of the heart and possesses artistic clarity, to also contribute to the advancement of the Arabic language, referring in the same context to the role of cultural activities, series, seminars and teaching in surrounding this language.
Al-Sayed stated that the writer contributes to building the human being and his role is to seek love, because it is the basis for building society, citing a number of poets throughout history.
The symposium was moderated by the poet Salam Turkmani and the poet Nevin Al-Azhar, in which a number of attendees presented various questions and interventions regarding interest in and preserving the Arabic language.
Dr. Ratib Sukkar, the supervisor of the Youth Cultural Club, concluded by calling for activating cultural youth activities that contribute to preserving the Arabic language and paying attention to the generation’s association with it because it represents our civilization throughout history.
