The research institute interviewed 1,011 Hong Kong residents by random telephone calls from 18 to 22 this month.
According to the survey, Chief Executive Carrie Lam’s latest popularity rating is 32 points, a significant increase of 3 points over half a month ago. The latest approval rate is 21%, the disapproval rate is 69%, and the net popularity rating is minus 49 percentage points. There was no significant difference a month ago.
Among them, 39% of the respondents gave Carrie Lam 0 points.
Looking at the data, since July 2019, at least 40% of each survey has given Lam Cheng a 0 point, which means that this survey is the least that people have given Lam Cheng a 0 point since the outbreak of the law revision.

Lai Jianguo, a senior lecturer at the Tang Luo Fengxian Academy of Social Sciences of the Caritas Institute of Higher Education, analyzed that this poll was conducted before the government "closed the district". Regarding the respondents who gave Lam Cheng a 0 point to create a new low since the turmoil of the amendment, Zhong Jianhua, the deputy chief executive of the Hong Kong Institute of Public Opinion, said that in the past 40% to 50 people have given Lam Cheng a 0 point. The institute’s chief executive, Zhong Tingyao, said earlier that the legal team had sent a lawyer’s letter to the Secretary for Justice, Zheng Ruohua, requesting the relevant departments to return to the institute after reviewing the relevant materials and documents.
