As the police reported, shortly after 3:30 p.m., a

72-year-old from Munich

with a

crutch

walked

along

the platform in the

direction of Geltendorf

at

the Puchheim train station

in heavy

snowfall

.

Shortly before a

regional train

passed, the married man fell over the

edge of

the

platform into the track bed.

Despite an immediate emergency

braking

by the

train driver

, there was probably contact between the train and the victim.

The man suffered

fatal injuries

in the accident

and died

at the scene of the accident

despite resuscitation

.

The exact

cause of the

fall has not yet been clarified.

There

were no

indications of

outside

participation, reports the police.

Another tragic accident occurred in Bruckberg in Lower Bavaria in October.

Two students were hit by an approaching train near Landshut and fatally injured.
