The next step in the Bundestag?

The ÖDP in the district has chosen Jan-Philipp van Olfen as its direct candidate for the federal election.

District - party-internal has already led him to the federal executive committee.

The next step should be in the Bundestag.

The ÖDP district associations Miesbach and Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen have nominated Jan-Philipp van Olfen as their direct candidate for the federal election.

Constituency assembly in freezing cold in the open air

The ÖDP has chosen a programmatic location in constituency 223 for its assembly meeting.

In sunny but cold weather, the members met on the grounds of the solidarity goass farmers in Eurasburg.

In spring 2020, a permaculture garden and several greenhouses were created here - also with the help of the then district association chairman and today's deputy federal chairman van Olfen.

Almost 30 households involved in solidarity agriculture and an inn were supplied with organic products all year round.

Although an event within a building would have been permitted for the constituency assemblies, the district chairmen Olaf Fries (Miesbach) and Manuel Tessun (Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen) decided to hold the assembly in the open air due to the risk of corona infection - an ice-cold nomination, so to speak.

Candidate has lived in a shared student flat for a good two years

The only 22-year-old van Olfen is studying at the Catholic Foundation University (KSH) with additional training in Catholic theology and experiential education.

He has lived in a student flat-share in Benediktbeuern for a good two years, and grew up in Nördlinger Ries.

He came to the ÖDP in his former home through a project of the Bund Naturschutz.

He was particularly impressed by the approach of the common good economy in the party, told our newspaper on the occasion of his election to the federal executive committee.

Candidate Jan-Philipp van Olfen still needs 200 supporter signatures

During the nomination, van Olfen emphasized that it was a miracle for him to be at this point.

A year and a half ago he did not know anyone in the ÖDP, and now he is applying as a direct candidate for the federal election.

He was convinced that further miracles are possible this year and swore the members that the ÖDP would make the leap into the Bundestag.

The party members present then unanimously voted him a direct candidate for the constituency.

In order for him to actually run, the ÖDP still needs 200 personal support signatures for its candidate.
