Director Mazen Lotfi: For me, directing is an affiliation and love based on the keenness to strengthen the social and cultural system

Director Mazen Lotfi is one of the most important directors who gave the radio a lot in terms of dramas and contributed to the brightness of many works that won the admiration and appreciation of the listeners.

In an interview with Sana Cultural, Lotfi said: For me, directing was a phenomenon of belonging through my love for my work and my eagerness to select what strengthens the social, cultural and artistic system, so I produced a series of amazing phenomena written by Dr. Talib Omran from 1989 to 2020, equivalent to one thousand three hundred episodes and this radio series was Form a strong relationship between him and the popular base.

Lutfi considered amazing phenomena among the most important radio series, in addition to the series Malki Al-Mohebhib, written and directed by Hayam Al-Shamaa, which presented the psychological and social structures of thirty poets from the pre-Islamic era, in addition to the series “Mawtat Al-Matar” by Youssef Mahmoud and prepared by Nahla Al-Sosu, who won three golden awards, one of them as director and Rafiq Subaie as an actor and Youssef Mahmoud as author.

Lotfi said that my beginnings at work were seeking to address social problems. In 1977 I presented a family affairs program, but what I am proud and proud of is my work on the October liberation war, which came under the title Hero and Medal, in which we reflected the facts of the October War, the most important of which was honoring the heroic pilots, and it was written by the late Walid Mardini.

Lotfi added: I spent a long time serving the radio soap operas and presented most of the successful works presented by the radio, especially since the interaction between me and the radio is more important than the interaction between me and other means because the community’s relationship with the radio was strong and more present. The radio is everywhere, so we were keen to present what Ashgan raises the emotions of the audience, so I have always been the most important writers of the series and most of the actors who adapt to the representation of different situations.

Director Lotfi pointed out the importance of child labor in his life, as he presented a series entitled “The Two Wonderful Handsets” written by Hayam Al Shamaa, which won two gold awards for writing and directing. He also presented a children's work entitled A Childhood Doll written by Fayez Dhakak and won a gold award.

Director Lotfi said that the conspiracy that is trying to undermine our homeland is also trying to undermine its culture, so presenting any artistic work is considered resilience in the face of conspiracies, wishing colleagues who work in the radio during the presentation of the series not to forget their affiliation and that their relationship with those who stood by them remain strong because the past And the present is supposed to be in one direction, especially since the past was original.

Lotfi continued: I love all my works and I do not differentiate between them, but there are works that remain firmly in memory as having more beautiful memories, such as the series Naji Atallah band, in which I played an important role, which is the character of Abu Shaalan alongside Adel Imam, which is a dramatic work and I now participate in the series Al-Kandoush with Director Samir Hussein and written by Hussam Tahseen Bek.

Director Mazen Lotfi won many gold, silver and bronze awards, in addition to a number of honors, including the Ministry of Information and has been working in the Department of Dramas since 1972, and his work includes a story in a drama alongside Amina Rizk and the series Bread and War written by Mahmoud Abdel Karim and directed by Basil Youssef.
