The community of Gilching will not join the “Cities Safe Haven” alliance for the distribution of refugees.
The municipal councils rejected a corresponding request.
The “Cities Safe Haven” alliance deals with the distribution of refugees.
After Tutzing, an application to join was also made by the Greens in Gilching.
The municipal councils of the Starnberg municipality now rejected the application.
Gilching
- As recently as September, the community had
Tutzing
the
alliance "Cities Safe havens"
connected, now the Gilchings wanted
Green
for their
municipality
.
In the request of the Green parliamentary group, Martin Pilgram wrote, among other things: "By joining the 'Cities Safe Haven' alliance, the municipalities involved declare that they are ready to take in
more people
than are
allocated
by the
distribution
quotas
for
refugees
."
Gilching: “Cities Safe Haven” alliance for refugee distribution - application by the Greens rejected
This is exactly where
Mayor
Manfred Walter started.
“If we agree to take in more refugees, we must also
create
the
living space
for them.
That will be
difficult to implement
in many municipalities
. ”The
refugee
problem is a task for the
Federal Republic
and the
EU
, and for legal reasons
alone
, the municipality has little
room for maneuver
.
"We decide this would be a joining this alliance,
showcase decision
that
no sense
makes."
Gilching does not want to be a "safe haven" - mayor explains problems
The
asylum helper group
supported the request of the Greens.
Walter presented his arguments in a detailed letter to the association.
Among other things, he has consulted with the district office, writes Walter.
“The legal supervisory authority (...) shares our opinion that the use of
municipal budget funds
for purposes outside of the municipal area is
not permitted
.
Financial support for a community on the islands of Lesbos or Samos is therefore not possible for legal reasons.
It is the same with the support of a
civilian rescue ship
. "
No more refugees than assigned: Gilching rejects application for the “Alliance for Safe Haven”
The required appointment of a speaker for the
topics of flight and migration
is quite possible, said Walter.
"This advisory duties would include a connection between the engaged in Gilching people, the district office Starnberg and the Government of Upper Bavaria, in my view." Generally speaking, but which would have the
assistant county
regional
"valuable work",
which is why he will be supporting this even further, where it legally is possible.
Matthias Vilsmayer (FW) anticipated an
escalating
discussion
with a point of order.
With the exception of the Greens, the committee agreed
to end
the
discussion
and immediately vote on the Greens motion.
The majority then rejected it.
Gilching is not alone in making this decision.
The city of Fürstenfeldbruck had recently rejected a corresponding application.
In Ebersberg, a decision was made at the district level.
The application to join the alliance also fell through.
