Feng Cheng Shuyi reported on the progress of a number of projects in the West Kowloon Cultural District at the meeting today. She mentioned that the construction of the Palace Museum Building is progressing smoothly. Currently, the building’s aluminum curtain wall is being laid and the internal mechanical and electrical equipment is being assembled. It will be arranged next month. Testing of various electrical and mechanical systems is expected to apply to the Buildings Department and Fire Services Department to start the relevant statutory procedures in the second quarter of this year.

The Administration is confident that it can be completed in November this year as originally planned, and then the exhibition hall will be renovated, and related cultural relics will be delivered to Hong Kong in the first half of next year.



She also said that after the M+ building obtained the occupation permit, it was the first to open the M+ basement car park with about 150 parking spaces, which increased the number of public parking spaces provided by the West Kowloon Cultural District during weekends and public holidays to about 480.

Feng Cheng Shuyi also stated that the Austin Road pedestrian connection system connecting the basement of Xiqu Centre and MTR Austin Station is expected to be open to the public in the first quarter of this year after all statutory inspections have been completed and the completion certificate has been obtained.

The connection system will provide a more convenient passage for audiences and citizens from MTR Austin Station to the Xiqu Centre.
