Concern is growing about the spread of mutated versions of the Coronavirus in many European countries, and this has been reflected in the adoption of new strict measures to contain its spread, which included closing their borders.

According to Agence France-Presse, from today, Germany has banned entry to its territory by land, sea and air for people from five countries experiencing widespread outbreaks of mutated versions of the virus.

For its part, starting from tomorrow, France closed its borders to all travelers from outside the European Union except for necessary trips, as well as closed its large commercial centers, according to what Prime Minister Jean Castex announced, indicating that stricter decisions may be taken in the coming days.

For its part, the Swedish National Health Agency announced the imposition of new strict measures to enter Sweden to limit the spread of the virus, explaining that “new arrivals to Sweden must isolate themselves for a week and examine themselves five days after the date of arrival.

In contrast to its neighbors, Norway announced that the government will work to ease the general isolation restrictions imposed to confront the virus gradually in the capital region, which will allow some shops and places of entertainment activities to reopen their doors, starting from the third of next February.

The emergence of a new strain of Covid 19 prompted the Norwegian authorities to tighten procedures on the 23rd of this month, including the closure of all shops that provide non-essential services for the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic.

Outside the European continent, Canada has also tightened restrictions on arrivals to its territory and measures aimed at "discouraging travelers" in order to limit the spread of mutated versions of the virus, according to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
