The date for holding elections in Libya has been modified by holding the presidential elections on December 24, and the legislative elections next January.
"The election of the House of Representatives will take place thirty days after the election of the country's president," the spokesman for the Libyan House of Representatives, Abdullah Blihaq, was quoted by AFP as saying, referring to the parliament's focus on completing the presidential elections to move beyond the current stage to a more stable stage. Regarding political parties, Blihaq said: “According to the Parliamentary Elections Law, the participation of parties will not be prohibited, provided that they participate in the individual system and not the list.”
It is noteworthy that the organization of the two elections in Libya was scheduled together on December 24 next.
