Tonight (Wednesday), the police arrested a senior psychiatrist, 61 years old from the Haifa area, on suspicion of sexual offenses at the employee of the Ma'ale Carmel Psychiatric Hospital in Tirat Carmel, where he serves as a ward director. The complainant, a doctor at the hospital, claims that the psychiatrist sexually assaulted her for many years. He was brought in for questioning and tomorrow the police are expected to bring him before a judge.

Ma'ale Carmel Hospital made headlines in October after the body of the girl Yael Melnik was found, who had been hospitalized for two and a half months at the beginning of the year. Earlier this month, the prosecution filed an indictment against Edward Katzura for aggravated murder of Melnik. Katzura was a brother at Ma'ale Carmel Hospital where Melnik was hospitalized, and the indictment unfolds a "relationship," during which Katzura exploits Melnik's dependence on him and her faith, until she finally voluntarily enters a pit the two dug together, breathing through a pipe. But then, according to the indictment, Katzura took the pipe out of her mouth and caused her death "with special cruelty."

About a month ago, a girl hospitalized in "Ma'ale HaCarmel" ended her life.

The patient was in the same ward where Melnik was treated.

At the same time, a 20-year-old girl was evacuated with cuts to the Rambam Hospital in Haifa when she was in fair condition.
