Today, the Ministry of Local Administration and Environment carried out a training workshop for leaders of regiments and firefighting units in the governorates to enhance and strengthen their capabilities, leadership and organization skills in cases of disasters, fires and crises.
The workshop included lectures on the seismic situation in Syria and the surrounding area and how to control and deal with fires, in addition to reviewing the experience of firefighting regiments during their control of forest and forest fires that broke out in 2020, and the lessons learned from them.
The Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Hussein Makhlouf, indicated in a speech during the workshop the support provided by the government to the firefighting sector in all governorates by allocating 4 billion pounds to purchase new vehicles this year, in addition to allocating sums of money to repair 100 stalled firefighting vehicles, pointing to the importance of the central competition for Rafd. Fire brigades with the necessary human cadres.
During the workshop, the work of fire brigades and units for the year 2021 was reviewed and evaluated, with the aim of avoiding negatives and raising efficiency by enhancing technical and training readiness.
