At 5:15 pm today (10th), the police received a report that a barge caught fire and smoked about 300 meters offshore from the Xin Yau Ma Tei Typhoon Shelter.
The fire crew responded to the scene and opened the throat to put out the fire at 6:12 in the evening. No one was injured in the incident.
According to what was seen at the scene, after the fire of the pontoon involved was put out, many vessels involved in the rescue were still on the scene, including the fire department command vessel, at least two fire-fighting vessels and a diving support vessel.
In addition, the Marine Police Vessel and Marine Department vessels were also on guard at the scene.
